We source our Gum Arabic from Sudan, which produces nearly 80% of the world’s crop across a geographic belt which covers an area of over 500,000 km². Sudanese Gum Arabic is exported mainly to Europe, USA, and Japan. Locally, Acacia Senegal is known as Hashab, and Acacia Seyal as Talha.
From the initial purchase of selected raw gum from smallholder farmers, through to final processing, we have complete control over the value chain. We also undergo frequent internal and external audits to ensure we comply with global standards for food additives.
Sudan is known for producing some of the world’s best Hibiscus. This is mostly exported to Europe where it is utilized as a natural colouring and flavouring food ingredient due to its deep red colour, and intense flavor.
